The Wiffle®Ball Championship unveils 2018 logo

NEW CARLISLE- As we turn the calendar to 2018, the New Carlisle Hometown Days committee is getting set for next summer's festival and The Wiffle®Ball Championship. With that comes the unveiling of The Championship's logo for 2018.

In the summer of 2017, the viaduct on US Highway 20/Michigan Street in New Carlisle was temporarily closed for repairs. The work took months longer than expected, wreaking havoc on residents and visitors of the town.

After seeing its importance as the entrance into New Carlisle, the viaduct is the focal point of this year's logo. With a South Shore train on its way to Chicago, the viaduct stands front and center in the logo. In the background is the historic downtown district of New Carlisle, featuring a variety of unique locally owned shops and restaurants.

Once again, The Championship's primary color is dark green. Orange accents complement the green, a nod to New Carlisle's hometown team.

A similar logo will be used for the 2018 Home Run Derby, and the script "The Wiffle®Ball Championship" will be used as a wordmark this year.

The Hometown Cup logo, which was first introduced in 2016, will remain in place as a secondary mark. The Cup logo will be used on Sunday for the Hometown Cup Playoffs and Hometown Cup Finals.

The Wiffle®Ball Championship is an official event of New Carlisle Hometown Days, Inc. Hometown Days is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing a fun-filled, family-oriented festival every July. The event weekend is a venue for many local churches, clubs, and other non-profit groups to conduct their biggest fundraisers of the year. All proceeds from The Championship help the Hometown Days committee in its effort to continue this summer tradition.
